Inspired by various methods of mixing the color grey, the Impression rugs play with the theme of density to create color neutral landscapes, using black and white fibers as if they were pixels on a screen. Density changes our way of perceiving a color. Distance creates density which creates color impressions. Cold grey shapes, formed by different densities of black and white create distinct graphical elements against a warm earthy grey background. The spectator can imagine a house, fields, a road, but is free to link visual memories to project a personal scenery towards the rugs.
